Lea Electric is a pioneer in the electrical construction and technology industry. We use the Leica RTC 360 laser scanner. A laser scan is essentially a non contact, non destructive technology that captures 3 dimensional objects via a “point cloud”. The laser scanner shoots laser light onto the surface of objects which creates the “point cloud”. The point clouds are then brought into Revit and Navisworks with GPS locations so they align. Typically laser scans are required on LOD 500 projects or if there is a need to document existing conditions.
